...What Are Bush's Chances? In "Why Bush Isn't A Shoo-In" [Feb. 9], columnist Joe Klein wrote that the President "has spent the past three years packed in political bubble wrap, sequestered from the realities of the public square." Wasn't Bush's father criticized during the 1992 campaign for being out of touch with mainstream America? Our current President's habit of being fed information mainly through his handlers keeps him not only out of touch with the mainstream but also willingly in the dark about issues and opinions other than those his close advisers believe...
...crimes trial of former Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic in the Hague has already lasted two years. Now, with the announcement that presiding judge Richard May will step down on May 31 for unspecified health reasons, it will likely last even longer. Prosecutors decided to wrap up their case two days early in an effort to avoid further delays. At one point, this cavity did contain water (it was a river in a production of Dead End), but now it alternates between simply being added to the stage and concealing an orchestra...
...fact that none of the characters wear the same outfit twice. But that’s all part of the zany/glamorous fun, we are told. Cast members’ teary confessions of their love for SATC, set to the tune of “Memories,” wrap up the one-hour “oh so very” special. The evening’s theme, by the way, seems to be that what was once a sexfest is now a love-fest, and the waterworks are turning on, full-force...
