James Walker Brown is necessary to the existence of the Bucharest Badminton Club because the club plays in and was organized by the Rumanian branch of the Y. M. C. A. Sole survivor of 47 Y. M. C. A. secretaries sent to Rumania since 1919 was Mr. Brown. In the early days Rumanians felt that it was an unpardonable impudence for the U. S. to send them missionaries of any sort.
