They leave New York for Savannah in the steamer "City of Augusta," arriving at Savannah early Sunday morning. Catain E. P. Smith, of the Columbia freshman crew, has recently sent a reply to the challenge of the Yale freshmen to a two-mile straightaway race at New London. Captain Smith refuses to accept the challenge, but states his willingness to admit the Yale freshmen to the Harvard Columbia race, provided Harvard agree. As Harvard will in all probability refuse to agree to any such proposition, the Yale freshmen and the Columbia freshmen will not race this year...
