...aided by the almost perfect tackling by Adams and support of Cabot. Biddle receiving the ball from a long pass carried it over the line, making the fourth touchdown for Harvard; from which Austin kicked the first goal. Time was called with the ball inside the Institute's 25-yard line. Haines and Richards played very well for the visitors, while Adams, Wesselhoeft, Biddle and Henry worked very effectively for Harvard. Several times the rush line failed to tackle well, but this will undoubtedly be remedied soon by practice. The contesting teams were as follows...

...Rust '87 started at 3-10 P. M. from the steps of Matthews; 5 minutes later the hounds were sent off, Captain Smith leading. The course lay up Quincy St. and Oxford, then by Sacramento to Beacon St. The hounds had hardly got out of the yard before they lost the trail, and on Beacon St. Mr. Smith got a severe header but he pluckily mounted again and finally won second prize. Much loose play was to be expected at first, as the large number of new players made concerted play very difficult. The play of the backs was by no means up to the standard...
