Harvard's last touchdown came in the fourth period when the Crimson's Alan Bersin blocked an attempted punt by Bob Ternes of Yale. Bob Brooks, a Yardling tackle plucked the ball up and scampered the last 15 yards to the goal line.
In the freshman meet the Yardling runners took fourth place behind Villanova, Maryland, and Army. Captain Jim Baker captured tenth place and teammate Bob Stempson took 11th.
In yesterday's freshman preliminary to the varsity meet, the Crimson yearlings demolished all opposition. Led by Bob Stempson's first-place finish. Yardling runners took first, third, fourth, fifth, and eighth places for a team total of 21. Northeastern was next with 44, and Tufts third with 79.
Yardling captain Jim Baker and Princeton's Allan Andreini went out fast in front of the pack and ran together until the final half-mile, when Baker tired. But right behind the Crimson captain was a slow of Yardlings runners who had hung on behind the leaders.
