...freshman crew has definitely refused to allow Yale to enter the race between Harvard and Columbia. This is the only decision that Harvard should come to this year in the matter, and indeed from the first there has been no doubt that it would be finally settled in this way. The reasons for such refusal are already well known. We do not object to a freshman race with Yale, but we can row only one race, and must row Columbia, and do not think that there is room enough on the New London course for three boats to race with...
...Philadelphia team which is to visit England next summer; but the college will expect a good showing even against these odds. The eleven has been improving lately, and with sharp fielding and steady work ought at least to keep down the runs. Cricket has taken a good start this year, and more interest has been shown in it than in former years. The eleven ought to try to keep up this interest by doing their best at Philadelphia, and if they lose this game, by working all the harder for a victory over Haverford at Cambridge...

As to the match next Saturday, though the number of contestants will be small, it will be interesting, and as many as can ought to go to Watertown and encourage the team...
...class games are virtually at an end, for the three remaining games, now that the championship has been awarded, will not be played. These class championship games have been closely contested this year, and, what is a special matter of congratulation, the full number of games necessary to decide the championship has been played and the regular schedule followed. Never before have these games been better arranged and we congratulate the nines on the vigorous way in which they made these games of sustained interest to the college...
