With Pan-Germanism dead and buried and Der Drang nach Osten but a blurred memory, Russia, and with Russia Pan-Slavism, will be able to play an unrestricted role in the Balkans. Premier Pashitch of Yugoslavia is probably more aware of this than any living man. His reason for wanting to recognize Russia, after having withheld that honor so long, is that Communism has been so modified that it will not present any grave danger to the Yugo-Slavian State...
