...Crimson started off with a rush in the first frame when Ellison drove a hard grounder at Di Giovanni, getting two bases when the Springfield infielder juggled the play and threw wild to first. Zarakov came through with a clean hit through shortstop, scoring Ellison. He stole second a moment later, and scored when Tobin produced the first of the three bingles which he collected during the afternoon. Crawley's luck in the fifth inning was sensational. He entered the game with one out, and Keene on third, whither he had proceeded after walking, on Ellison's two-bagger. Crawley walked Zarakov, loading the bases. Todd was due for a hit, and he lined one of the hardest hit balls of the afternoon straight at Di Giovanni. The diminutive second baseman stopped it with one hand and caught it with the other just before it dropped to the ground, retiring the side by doubling up Zarakov at first...

Coach Mahan has announced another shift in the Crimson line-up, less than two weeks before the Yale series. The new arrangement, which will go into effect this afternoon, will see Zarakov restored to his old place at the hot corner, with Keene, late of the Seconds, filling Howard's place at shortstop. This change is looked upon by Crimson baseball followers as indicating not so much that Zarakov is appreciably better at third than he is at short as that there is no one else on the squad capable of holding down the seek adequately...
