Died. Peter Fraser, 66, Prime Minister of New Zealand from 1940 to 1949, one of the leaders in taking New Zealand to socialism over the past 15 years; of a heart attack; in Wellington, New Zealand. Born a cobbler's son in Scotland, Fraser went to New Zealand at 26, rose from labor unionizing to Parliament to the cabinet.
