...talk about his life than the issues. "He does have difficulties, but those are not the criteria for a U.S. Senator," says Millner spokesman Stuart Roy. "Nor does it say how you will vote in the U.S. Senate." But Millner, who came within 33,000 votes of defeating Governor Zell Miller two years ago, has been equally aggressive about running on his own Horatio Alger-like biography. He went from working in his father's gas station at age 10 and putting himself through college selling pots and pans door to door, to founding Norrell Corp., a temp-services company...
...damage in South Carolina. The Federal Emergency Management Agency sent crews to the region, equipped with cots, tents, generators, blankets, food and other supplies. In Cape Canaveral, NASA moved space shuttle Atlantis back into its hangar and delayed its September 14 mission by at least two days. Says Steve Anthony, executive director of the Democratic Party of Georgia: "If we can show the voters that our candidate fits the profile...
Brown's editorial displays the same prejudice and lack of perspective with which he credits the "traitors, miscreants and goons" of the South. Yes, the confederate flag is an inappropriate symbol for the Georgia state flag. Gov. Zell Miller, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the majority of those whom I know in Atlanta area all agree with this portion of Brown's tirade. His broad generalizations and prejudicial attacks, however, undermine his argument. Claiming that "the crimes of the Nazi state were perhaps more shocking than those of the Confederacy" (italics mine), and even then only because the Germans were...
